Q: Who is Plastic Resource, Inc.?
A: Plastic Resource Inc. specializes in card printing. If you have been searching for a quality plastic card printer, we are the printer you have been looking for.
We offer printing of gift cards, gift card programs, preferred customer cards, phone cards (both plastic and paper), business cards, hospital cards and id cards. We also offer key tags, luggage tags, mag stripe cards, barcoding and much more!

PRINTING FAQS

Q: What is the standard gift card size?
A: Standard (CR 80) gift card size is 3 3/8" width x 2 1/8" (height) x 0.030 mil (thickness). The card's dimensions are the same as a standard credit card.

Q: In creating my card design, what dimensions do I have to work with?
A: Finished card size: 3 3/8" (3.375) x 2 1/8" (2.125). Magnetic Stripe is placed 3/16" from edge of card. Art work that bleeds must extend 1/8th" beyond the edge of card. A 1/8" stay away trim safety margin inside of card edge is recommended for all type, logos and essential art elements.

Q: What types of electronic format do you accept for artwork?
A: We currently accept digital files (300 DPI recommended) for both the Mac and PC platforms created with any of the following programs:
- Quark Express version 7.0 or lower
- Adobe Photoshop CS3 (MAC or PC) or lower
- Adobe Illustrator CS3 (MAC or PC) or lower
- In Design CS3 (MAC or PC) or lower
- Adobe PageMaker version 7.0 or lower
- Corel Draw 12.0 (PC Only)
- All high resolution (300 DPI required) EPS, TIFF and Vector Images

Q: Do I need to send fonts with artwork?
A: Please convert all text objects to outlines whenever possible prior to sending us your
final artwork.

Q: Do you accept camera ready artwork?
A: Yes, we accept separated film and camera ready artwork. Photocopies and pre-printed materials (business cards, brochures, etc.) are not suitable for high-quality graphic production, but are sometimes used. Complete card design services are available for a moderate fee.

Q: What media is utilized for transferring data to you?
A: We can accept your files via floppy disk, 100 MB Zip disks, (both IBM and Mac), CD, and email any file size below 20MB. We also can download from customer FTP sites.

Q: How long does it take to develop a gift card proof?
A: Once acceptable artwork has been received, an electronic proof will be created and distributed via email within 3 to 5 business days. A color paper proof can also be sent upon request for $35.00.

Q: What is the time frame for receiving my completed gift card order?
A: Once the proof has been approved and signed, production requires approximately 15 business days + shipping time.

Q: What is the minimum number of gift cards I can order?
A: An initial order of 500 Standard or 1,000 Custom cards is required to start the program.

Q: Can I order a larger quantity of cards in order to get a price break and have them stored until needed?
A: Yes, we have the capability of storing those cards and sending them to you on an "as needed" basis.
|

Q: What type of magnetic stripe is applied to the gift cards?
A: We use a 2 track LoCo. 300 oersted, 7/16" or 5/16".
